VW40 file upload rejected: what to check before trying again
Separate a format or size problem from a sign-in or connection error, and give support the details needed to review your VW40 file.
A rejected VW40 upload does not automatically mean that your airbag ECU is unsupported. The upload can stop because of sign-in, the selected file, its size or a temporary connection problem. Identify which message you received before changing the file or making another payment.
The VW40 crash clear service works with supported original DFlash data-memory files. Uploading the file and starting paid processing are separate steps. A file appearing in your account confirms receipt, rather than compatibility or a completed result.
First check whether the upload already exists
Sign in to the account you intend to use for the job. If a tab has been open for a long time, refresh it and check that you are still signed in. A session problem needs a new sign-in; buying credits will not solve it.
If the connection stopped after you selected a file, open the job history before uploading again. The server may have received the file even though the browser missed the response. Compare the file name and time so you do not create several jobs while investigating one interruption.
Check the actual file, not just its extension
The upload form accepts binary files with .bin, .ori, .epr or .dump extensions. A ZIP archive, screenshot, PDF report or text export is not the required ECU file. Renaming one of these to .bin does not convert its contents into a supported dump.
Select the original binary file from the workshop job. If you received an archive, locate the original file it contains rather than submitting the archive. Do not edit the contents simply to make an error disappear. An accepted extension is only one upload requirement; it does not identify the ECU or establish that the selected memory area is correct.
A large file needs review, not trimming
The upload limit is 500 KB as displayed in the form: 512,000 bytes, or 500 KiB. The service requires the appropriate DFlash data-memory file; PFlash files are not supported. An oversized file is a reason to check which export was selected.
Do not split, truncate, pad or compress a file to fit this limit. Those changes do not turn the wrong memory export into the required input. Keep the original unchanged and ask support if you cannot establish what file you have. The TC233-32F identification page explains why the processor name alone is insufficient to confirm a specific unit.
Treat temporary errors separately
A network interruption or temporary upload limit calls for a pause. Check the connection, read the message and review the account history before one considered attempt. Repeated clicks or new accounts do not resolve a rejected file. If the error persists, stop and report it rather than cycling through altered copies.
Send support a useful report
Include the complete ECU part number and suffix, file extension, exact size, approximate upload time and the error text. Add the job identifier if one exists. Describe whether the file was rejected immediately or appeared in history before the interruption. Avoid customer personal details and never send passwords or payment-card information.
Use support to agree the next step and how to provide a file privately if needed. Once the input is confirmed, review the current credit packages and continue with the relevant job. This keeps your workshop order clear without treating another purchase as a fix for an upload error.

FAQ about VW40 airbag ECU reset
Does a successful VW40 upload confirm compatibility?
No. It confirms that a file was received and a job was created. The unit, memory export and file still need to meet the service requirements before a usable processing result can be available.
Can I rename a ZIP or PDF to .bin?
No. The service requires the actual binary ECU file. Changing the extension does not convert an archive, report or text document into that file.
What is the VW40 upload size limit?
The form displays 500 KB. The exact limit is 512,000 bytes, or 500 KiB. Do not split or trim an oversized file to bypass the limit; verify the selected export with support.
Should I buy credits when an upload fails?
A credit purchase does not resolve sign-in, format, size or connection errors. Check whether the job already exists and resolve the upload problem before starting processing.
Match the unit and original file to the service before starting a paid job.
